Step 1

Determine the first dealer. Players draw cards, and the one with the lowest card becomes the first dealer. The dealer rotates clockwise in subsequent rounds

Step 2

The dealer shuffles the deck and deals the entire deck  across players. Each player should have 13 cards

Step 3

The player with the 3 of Diamonds traditionally makes the first move, placing it face up in the center. The player may play a single card or place a valid combination

Step 4

Play proceeds clockwise. Each player must play a higher combination of cards than the previous player following the same number of cards that was played

Players can choose to pass their turn if they cannot or do not wish to play a higher combination

Step 5

If all players pass and it rotates back to original player, he/she may reset the combination of cards (singles, pairs, straights, flush, etc.) played with no suite or numeric card restrictions

Step 6

The first player to empty their hand is the winner. The game usually continues with other players vying for subsequent positions

Step 7

After a round is complete, the player to the left of the previous dealer becomes the new dealer, and a new round begins.

Please note, the above are suggested rules, players may adjust rules to best suit house rules
